Nigel and his wife installed the versatile Premium home lift at their detached family home in Haslemere.
Nigel, who has progressive muscular dystrophy, is beginning to make adjustments to his lifestyle so that he can continue to live life to the full. In particular, he finds stairs very dangerous, both going up and especially down, and can foresee a time in the medium term when a wheelchair will be required to help him get around. The couple’s staircase didn’t lend itself to a stairlift and neither would it assist him as a wheelchair user so he set about researching lifts that would suit his purpose.
After speaking to seven or eight potential lift providers, the couple narrowed their selection down to four which they then invited to view plans, present solutions and provide basic ‘like for like’ quotations before finalising the lift specification. Evo Lifts also arranged for them to visit another customer who had recently had an Evo home lift installed to see how it worked in practice and find out about her experience.
Working with the couple, their architect and builder to achieve the desired finish and come within budget, Evo Lifts installed a Premium home lift with two stops and optional extras. It features double-hinged landing level doors and tinted glass doors at ground level, both with automatic openers to give them complete independence. The couple also specified integral LED lighting in the lift car and key switch isolation to deter grandchildren from playing with it!
“Evo Lifts were very helpful, made a good presentation and excellent suggestions, working well with our builder. They oversaw the whole project including the installation. We did have one small problem which was quickly resolved by the builder. Our lift has functioned very well and does the job perfectly. Compared with the competition, it’s good value too. Although other family members are occasional users, it has worked as planned: grandchildren are banned!” said Nigel.
